Contests have become fixtures of many areas of the
performing arts, and magic is no exception.
The International Brotherhood of Magicians, Ring 23 (also known as the
Cleveland Magicians Club) held its annual competition recently and I was happy
to participate. I took part in the close-up competition performing a trick
using colorful dice. It had a considerably simpler plot than some of the others,
as I focused on its presentation. Although
