A capacity crowd enjoyed the annual banquet of the Cleveland Magicians' Club held this evening in the show room of Dave & Busters, Westlake. After an hour of closeup magic performed at the tables of audience members, a buffet dinner was served, followed by a club awards ceremony and a stage show. The latter featured comedy performances by emcee Kerry Pollack, Tim Hill and Bob Abdou ("Mr. Puppet"). It was a full evening of entertainment and I don't think anyone was disappointed. The CMC is the local chapter (Ring 23) of the International Brotherhood of Magicians.
Among the closeup performers was yours truly, and I presented sleight-of-hand using, among other things, cards and sponge balls (photo). It was an enjoyable evening. (Thanks to Marv Leventhal for taking the photo.)
