After leaving The Amazing Morris at a local boarding facility, we flew to Chicago for a brief vacation this week. In addition to shopping the Magnificent Mile I was interested in looking up Ash's Magic Shop on Chicago's Northside. It was a long bus ride from the hotel Tuesday, but we finally found the store on North Western Avenue.
Mr. Ash is a friendly gentleman, knowledgeable and good humored. As we walked into the store he asked me if I wanted to buy the place. I declined the offer. The shop is stocked full of tricks and gags and a lot of books, both new and second-hand. I had a great time browsing and made a few purchases.
While we were there Mr. Ash introduced me to another customer, Jon Langford, who had arrived with his son, a magic fan. Jon is with the Chicago band the Waco Brothers.
We enjoyed our visit and I am glad we took the time to go to Ash's Magic Shop.
