Update: My retirement party was quite an event. It was good to see my former co-workers and I was glad to have had the opportunity to provide the entertainment. The magic performance went well. I performed some traditional sleight-of-hand tricks and other more modern material. My friend Betty assisted me in a comedy mind-reading routine, and, as a grand finale, I cut the branch manager in half! We all had a lot of fun that evening.
My next magic performance will be presented for a private party - my own! Due to funding cutbacks my position at the library (as well as those of 40 others) has been eliminated and I will be taking early retirement. My co-workers will be holding a dinner for me on Friday evening, January 8 at 6:30 at the Firehouse Grille & Pub in Willoughby Hills, and I have been asked to be the entertainment. I am happy to oblige and am looking forward to the event.
